Blog Assignment #3

In the video, What is Peer Editing? , The word Peer means someone that is your own age. The word Editing means making suggestions, comments, compliments, and changes to writing. Peer editing is not meant to discourage the person from the work he or she has done. Peer editing is not done to make someone feel inadequate or a terrible writer. Peer editing offers constructive criticism in a positive way, creating a refined piece of work as the end product. There are many ways to give constructive criticism without offending someone, sounding rude, or being blunt. After reading/watching the many materials provided for improving ones commenting abilities, there are many points that one should remember while leaving feedback. These are just a few examples that you should keep in mind.

WHAT IS PEER EDITING VIDEO

1. Be positive-leave compliments. Do not leave only negative feedback 2. Make suggestions- word choice, content, organization, etc.. 3.Corrections- check for the usual punctuation, spelling, grammar..

On the slide show, they suggest the exact same three points to do while peer editing, Compliments, suggestions, corrections. Also, being specific about your criticisms. I thoroughly enjoyed the video on peer critiques. I think this would be a very good video to show to kids of all ages, when teaching to reviews peers works.
